Albuquerque, N.M., February 6th, 2019 — Professional Arena Football is alive and well in New Mexico! The Duke City Gladiators, Albuquerque’s reigning 2018 CIF Southern Conference Champions, will kickoff their 2019 season on Saturday, March, 23rd at Tingley Coliseum.
Gina Prieskorn-Thomas, the Gladiators’ new owner, is looking forward to another successful season. She was a valuable member of the Gladiator’s Front Office and a co-owner during last season’s historic acquisition of the Champions Bowl Trophy. She is an Albuquerque native and University of New Mexico alumnus, and only one of two females in the country currently holding an ownership position in the Champions Indoor Football League.
“As New Mexico’s only professional football team, we want to make an impact in the community,” stated Prieskorn-Thomas. “This season you’re going to see our organization out and about doing more events for the community as our way of saying thank you for the incredible support we’ve received.”
Returning Head Coach Dominic Bramante has announced that player tryouts for this season will be on Sunday, February 23rd at Tingley Coliseum. Players report to preseason camp on Friday, March 1st.
In addition to an action-packed season on the field, the Gladiators have several family-friendly events scheduled throughout the season which include a special appearance by Baltimore Ravens’ Head Coach Jim Harbaugh for the Kickoff Game on March 23rd.
